THE STORY SO FAR....
UPDATE: Naomi Ruth Carpenter was born at 11:22pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2002!
At birth she was 20 1/2 inches long and weighed 7 lbs, 10 ozs. More details will follow in the Weblog.

Mommy found out that she was pregnant on February 5th. She was so happy and surprised that she had to take three pregnancy tests to convince herself that Naomi was on the way! Both Mommy and Daddy were absolutely thrilled, and so were all of Naomi's Grandparents and her Aunt Jane.

Mommy has had a very easy and uneventful pregnancy. We waited to tell most of our family and friends about the baby until the end of March (cousins Diana and Brendan told the Skillman relatives by offering up a toast to the baby at a dinner at Naomi's Great Uncle Richard's house).

Naomi made her cable television debut in late April when Mommy and Daddy danced a hustle at the Dayton Dance Fair! The MC, Mommy and Daddy's friend Roddy Rodemacher, announced that they were expecting a new little dancer in October.

On May 14th, Mommy had an ultrasound at the University of Maryland's University Hospital. We learned that we were having a healthy baby girl. Up until then, we had been calling the baby "Sweet Pea," but from then on we started calling her "Naomi."

Mommy first felt the baby kick on May 31st. Daddy first felt Naomi move on June 23rd after Mommy had a cranial sacral massage at Mii Amo spa in Sedona, AZ -- already Naomi likes being pampered and spoiled by her Grandparents (thanks, Grandma Liz, for the wonderful trip!).

Mommy and Daddy have been having lots of fun planning the baby's room. Naomi has a beautiful crib, changing table, and dresser (from Grandma Liz and Grandpa Ron) and a wonderful gliding rocker (from Grandpa Dick and Grandma Leslie). Mommy and Daddy had lots of fun drawing and painting a Dr. Seuss mural for Naomi. We think she will love it!

Grandma Carol and Grandpa Steve threw a baby shower for Naomi at the Greenberg Family Reunion, which was held in Princeton, NJ, on July 27th. Naomi got lots of terrific gifts, including an incredible stroller from Grandma Carol and Grandpa Steve.

Naomi has been a great baby so far! Mommy loved being pregnant and Mommy and Daddy have loved getting to know Naomi Ruth!
